Overall LengthExtend your tape measure along the full diagonal run of the staircase, from the bottom landing to the top step. This is the longest measurement and captures the complete travel distance of the lift.

Staircase WidthMeasure straight across the width of your stairs at the base. This confirms the lift will fit within your staircase without obstruction.

Bottom ClearanceIf there is a wall, door, or obstruction at the foot of the stairs, measure from the bottom step out to that surface. This ensures the lift can safely complete its descent.

Rise of One StepMeasure vertically from the top surface of one step down to the top surface of the next. This is the height of a single step.

Tread DepthMeasure horizontally from the front edge of one step to the front edge of the step directly behind it. This tells us how deep each individual step is.

Top ClearanceMeasure from the top step to any wall, door, or overhead obstruction at the top of the staircase. This ensures the lift can park safely at the top without interference.

Stand at the top and extend a tape measure down so it lays along all the treads, tip touching the bottom landing.

Which side of the staircase should the track mount on, when you stand at the bottom and look up?

Power note: If you don't have a 110V outlet within 6 feet of the top or bottom landing, you'll need to have one installed or use an extension cord. We'll go over this on your confirmation call.
