Product Overview

What Is the Atlas 500?

The Atlas 500 is a straight stairlift that carries you up and down your staircase while seated in a secure, comfortable chair. It is designed for staircases that run in a straight line from top to bottom with no turns or landings.

The track mounts directly to your stairs, not your wall, using a single bracket at every contact point. This makes installation straightforward and leaves no permanent marks on your walls.

At the top of the staircase, the seat swivels away from the steps so you can exit safely and easily. The seat, armrests, and footrest all fold up when the lift is parked, so the staircase stays fully usable for everyone else in the home.

The unit runs on a battery that charges automatically when parked at either end of the track. If the power goes out, the lift keeps working.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this work on any staircase?
The Atlas 500 is designed for straight staircases only. If your stairs have a turn or landing, a curved stairlift would be required. Call us and we can help you assess your staircase before ordering.
Can I install this myself?
Yes. The track mounts directly to your stairs using single brackets and standard tools. Most installations are completed in one day with two people. If you prefer not to install it yourself, a local contractor can typically handle the setup.
What if the power goes out?
The Atlas 500 runs on battery power. It charges automatically when parked at either end of the track and keeps working during power outages.
Will this damage my stairs or walls?
No. The track mounts to the stair treads themselves, not the wall. It can be removed without significant modification to the staircase.
What if my staircase is shorter than 15 feet?
The track can be custom cut to your staircase length, either at the factory or on-site during installation.
Can the track fold out of the way at the bottom?
Yes, with the optional folding rail add-on. This keeps the foot of the stairs clear when the lift is not in use.
